Welcome to my page čÖé If you’re here, it may be because you are or know a person who is considered “too┬ásensitive.” Or, you may just be curious about what it means to be highly sensitive. Sensitive┬áhas been a derogatory term for as long as I’ve been alive, maybe even longer. I’m here to help people understand that high sensitivity is not a horrible thing, nor is it the greatest thing ever. It is part of a temperament, and it is the way many of us are wired.

Take a look around, check out the resources, and read the blog. I hope you enjoy it!

About Me

Hi! My name is Jessica. Depending on when you met me, you may know me as Jessica, Jess, JJ, Jessie, or Jessie Marie. I’m 27 years old and I’ve been highly sensitive all my life. I’ve only known what this meant in the last 7 or so years.

I’m a behavioral therapist who works with autistic kids and I love my job. I’m also a photographer and food enthusiast. Lately, I’ve also been getting back to something I’ve loved since I was a child: writing. All of these things make for a busy but somewhat solitary life.

I just recently got married to one of the best men I’ve ever known, and the best man I’d ever dated. His name is Roland čÖé And he works too hard to make sure that I’m not overwhelmed.

I created this site because there are so many of us highly sensitive people, men and women, who may feel hurt, beaten down, lonely and isolated, and sad about something that we cannot help being. We are highly sensitive, or we love someone who is. In my fight for social justice and knowledge about intersectionality, this is a big part of it. Being human is a collective experience that needs all of our voices, the highly sensitive included. I hope you will join me in this mission.
